Caelum lay on his belly, exploring the world from a new perspective while our gentle giant, Paddington, observed his little brother's every move. It's clear that Paddington knows he has a crucial role to play in protecting and cherishing this new addition to our family. And, of course, Asterius was right there by Caelum's side, offering encouragement. He lovingly caressed Caelum's head and told his little brother to look at the black and white cards with captivating shapes suspended above him. Caelum's curious eyes followed the floating cards, and a smile of wonder lit up his face. It's heartwarming to see the bond between these two brothers grow stronger with each passing day.

Two weeks ago, our lives were forever changed as we welcomed Caelum into the world. Just as fireworks lit up the sky in dazzling displays of color on Caelum's July 4th birthday, so too did Caelum light up our hearts with his arrival. And like fireworks that leave us in awe, Caelum's presence in our lives fills us with wonder and gratitude
Time has flown by in a haze of diapers, late-night feedings, and heartwarming snuggles. He's demonstrated his determination to grow strong with his voracious appetite. He melts our hearts with cuddles, and even grants us some restful stretches of sleep overnight. Time may seem to pass quickly, but we intend to cherish every single milestone along the way. Asterius made his first contact with Caelum. At first, Asterius just observed his tiny sibling. He eagerly shared his observations, that Caelum drinks a lot of milkies and doesn't like to be changed. Asterius even asked us if Caelum could sleep in his crib, embracing his newfound sibling connection. He also has been enjoying introducing Caelum to his vast collection of toy cars and trucks. Of course Asterius also secured our assurances that Caelum wouldn't drink from his own precious supply of milk.
A week after birth, a beautiful milestone unfolded as Asterius caressed Caelum for the first time. With gentle tenderness, his hand reached out, softly stroking his brother's tiny head. It was a magical moment that marked the beginning of a lifelong bond, demonstrating the immense love and joy that siblings can bring into each other's lives. Caelum experienced his first ride in a stroller alongside his older brother, Asterius. Beneath the radiant summer sun, the gentle motion and cool breeze lulled them both into a peaceful slumber, capturing the essence of tranquility.
Our first family outing since Caelum came home from the hospital took place just 5 days after Caelum's birth. This is in stark contrast to Asterius' first outing which didn't happen for several months due to the COVID-19 lockdown. We made our regular stop at Breadsmith to treat Asterius to some chocolate muffins and then embarked on a memorable adventure riding the trolley at Lake Harriet.
Stay tuned for more heartwarming stories from the Levine family as we continue to embrace and celebrate these precious moments. Birth Annoucement Caelum Rhodes Levine born July 4th at 6:39am In keeping with our celestial theme, Caelum (pronounced kale-uhm) is Latin for 'Sky' or 'Heaven'. Rhodes means "where roses grow" in Greek and honors Amy's beloved grandmother Rose. Caelum entered the world sharing the identical birth weight of 8 lbs. 14 oz. and length of 21 inches with his brother Asterius. Our boys also have an affinity for sharing a birthday with national observances - a Thanksgiving Day baby and now an Independence Day birth.
