In the spirited video below, Asterius trys out his new talking globe, a gift that merges play with learning. His delight is palpable as he activates the national anthem feature, choosing Brazil's anthem to fill the room. As the instrumental anthem fills the room, Asterius, with infectious enthusiasm, skips around the room. He then transitions to playing the accordion, adding a whimsical musical touch. Alline enhances the scene by singing the Portuguese lyrics. Meanwhile, Caelum introduces a metronome to the ensemble, adding a rhythmic backbone to the musical celebration.

Following the festive morning, it was time for the Levines to embrace the thrill of sledding! The family headed to the backyard where Dadda led the charge, pulling Asterius and Caelum both up and down the gentle slope. Laughter filled the air, especially when Dadda, slipped and landed on his butt in the snow, much to the amusement of the boys. This playful session was also a warm-up for the upcoming planned adventure to the steeper hills of nearby Braemar Golf Course. The snowy escapade built up the boys' confidence and excitement for the challenges ahead, making the afternoon a perfect blend of joy and anticipation for the thrilling sled rides to come.

After dinner, the family gathered to appreciate the day's efforts. Lit by the soft, warm glow of the Christmas tree, they took a moment to reflect on the day’s joys. The magical ambiance, enhanced by the twinkling lights, showcased the holiday spirit through the wonder-filled eyes of Asterius and Caelum. This quiet evening moment underscored the beauty and warmth that the holiday season brings to the Levine household.

The Levine family embarked on a festive journey aboard the North Pole Express, a whimsical train ride designed to capture the spirit of the holiday season. This charming annual event, transforms a historic train into a winter wonderland, taking families on an enchanting ride through a snowy Christmast landscape.

As the train chugged through the festive scenery, the highlight was the special appearance by Santa Claus himself, who made his way through the carriage. The North Pole Express was a wonderful escape into the wonder and excitement of Christmas, capturing the hearts of all who boarded.

The Levine family's Thanksgiving excursion to Palm Springs was a vibrant mix of celebration, exploration, and relaxation. It began with a heartwarming celebration for Asterius’ 4th birthday, set against the backdrop of our charming Airbnb located within the scenic confines of the Indian Palms Country Club homeowner's association. The home was bustling with joy, adorned with festive decorations, and filled with laughter, as Asterius blew out his birthday candles surrounded by family.

Our Airbnb stay was punctuated by delightful dips in the pool. The excitement revved up with a visit to the "Latino Classics" car show on the Association's property. This was the ideal excursion for our car enthusiast Asterius, who was thrilled by the modified classic cars on display.

The adventure reached new heights with a thrilling ride on the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway. The ascent offered us panoramic views of the rugged terrain below, which transitioned from stark desert to alpine forests.

Amidst packing for our relocation between the Airbnb and the Westin Mission Hills Resort Villas, Asterius insisted on bringing all his birthday balloons in the car which was already overflowing with luggage, a stroller and all our groceries. The thought never entered our minds of disappointing our birthday boy by leaving his ballons behind. This led to the comical scene of Dadda racing alongside the car with the ballons in tow in a heroic effort to save Asterius' birthday balloons. This scene illustrates the playful and spontaneous spirit of our family adventures.

Our stay at the Westin Resort Villas was a continuation of our fun-filled journey. The resort's expansive pool was a daily delight, with Asterius and Dadda often found splashing about, while Caelum played in the wading pool. The outdoor games area was a hit, providing endless entertainment with a variety of activities from cornhole to table tennis.

Further enriching the holiday, we spent an afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage. The resort's location atop a bluff offered them a majestic view of the Coachella Valley. The expansive terraces and elegant ambiance provided a perfect backdrop for our boys to let out some energy while soaking in the serene beauty of the desert.

Andreas Canyon provided a serene escape from the desert's aridity, with its lush fan palms and cool streambeds offering a stark contrast to the surrounding sandy expanses. We wandered along trails canopied by towering rock formations, each step further immersing us in the tranquil whispers of nature.

In a rare and special evening, Dadda and Momma enjoyed their first date night in two years, adding a touch of romance to the holiday season. They dined al fresco at the renowned Lavender Bistro illuminated by thousands of sparkling lights, amidst fresh flowers and the melodic sounds of live music—a perfect setting for a night of reconnecting and relaxation.

This Thanksgiving trip to Palm Springs was more than just a holiday getaway; it was a celebration of family, the beauty of nature, and the joy of exploration.

11/24/2024 - Video: Caelum creates his own game investigating drain covers while Asterius charges full speed at Dadda, ending in a playful tackle that sends the camera tumbling—pure Ritz playtime chaos!

The Levine family recently embarked on a memorable journey to Cedar Falls, Iowa, to pick up a new addition to the family: a 31-foot 2024 Jayco RV. And of course, it adds to our fleet of oversized vehicles, looking right at home next to Amy's school bus (aka LR4).

Asterius was thrilled, envisioning future family trips, particularly the prospect of sleeping in the bunk beds. The interior of the RV, with its cozy nooks and many features, sparked the imagination of Asterius.

Driving the RV back, Dadda got a real feel for the size of the new vehicle. Feeling like he was commanding a semi-truck and terrified of backing up, he exclusively chose semi truck-only parking.

This new RV promises many upcoming adventures and priceless family moments on the open road. We can't wait to share more of these journeys with you on our family blog!

In October 2024, the Levine family embarked on a trip to Ely, Minnesota, which turned out to be more than just a retreat—it was the profound fulfillment of a vision.

Several months prior, Michael had a striking vision of Amy experiencing the Northern Lights over inky dark waters as a crucial part of her healing journey. This vision occurred without any awareness that the eventual trip to Ely would perfectly coincide with the solar maximum, the peak of the sun's 11-year solar cycle when its magnetic field flips and solar activity increases, promising the most brilliant auroral displays.

The universe seemed to have orchestrated the timing of our arrival in Ely with this cosmic event. The sky danced with the shimmering colors of the Northern Lights—green and purple hues swirling above the inky blackness of the water below. The scene was eerily identical to Michael's vision, unfolding just as he had seen it, down to the finest detail. 

Laying on the dock under the celestial display, we felt a deep connection to the universe and to each other, a reminder of nature’s power to awe and heal. It was a poignant moment that underscored the mysterious ways of the cosmos. 

While our nights were illuminated by the surreal aurora borealis, our days were filled with exploration and discovery. Asterius, with boundless curiosity and enthusiasm, took to the wilderness with an explorer’s spirit. Asterius, Dadda and Paddington, embarked on mini-expeditions hopping onto some of the small shore islands dotting the river by our cabin. In another adventure, Dadda, Alline, and Asterius took an exhilarating canoe trip on the river. This took a tense turn as the weather grew ominous, churning up white caps and forcing them to make a cautious retreat back to shore. Asterius’ imagination also turned a visit to our cabin’s sauna into a fantastical adventure aboard a rocket ship.

Our educational visits to the North American Bear Center and the International Wolf Center were also highlights of the trip. At the North American Bear Center, Caelum's fearless exploration of a mock bear den was a testament to his boldness. The following day, the International Wolf Center provided us with an appreciation for these complex creatures. Asterius and Caelum were also captivated by a flight simulator at the Wolf Center. They took turns piloting a virtual airplane, pulling levers and flipping switches, watching as it soared over virtual landscapes to track isolated wolf packs.

One of the most endearing memories was the creation of s'mores over a bonfire. Watching Asterius roast his first marshmallow and experience the delight of s'mores under a starry sky was a reminder of life’s simple pleasures and the joy they can bring.

This journey to Ely was a profound celebration of life, nature’s beauty, and familial bonds. It was a reminder of the healing power of the natural world and the profound impact it can have on our spirits. The connections we strengthened there, have left a lasting imprint on our hearts, reinforcing our belief in the unseen and the mystical moments life offers.

When we introduced two new toy cars to our boys, we imagined lanes of independent play—each child adventuring in their own little world. But Asterius and Caelum had a different idea, one that involved sharing the road and their imaginations.

Asterius, embraced the responsibility of a big brother by inviting Caelum on a joint excursion. Their collaborative playtime took form in Caelum's bright red Fisher-Price car, which became their miniature family car for trips to imaginary markets and beyond.

Meanwhile, Asterius received his own white Land Rover, a spitting image of "Momma's car," but just his size. With confidence belying his years, he maneuvered the car with such precision that a passersby incredulously asked if the car being driven remote by Momma or Dadda. They were astonished to learn that Asterius, at the tender age of three and a half, already boasted a 'driver's license' from the esteemed Legoland, California.

Caelum, ever the attentive observer, watched with twinkling eyes and chuckles as Asterius navigated the sidewalks.

Our driveway and living room have become the grounds for more than just play; they are where the foundations of trust, teaching, and shared joy are being laid down pedal by pedal, one 'beep beep' at a time. These are the days of vroom and bloom, of brotherhood in its purest form — a journey we're all too delighted to witness from the sidelines.

The Levine home was alight with the fresh vibrancy of spring as Asterius and Caelum shared their first Easter experience, woven together with pastel threads and laughter. The air hummed with new traditions and sibling secrets, as these two brothers found joy in the season's simple pleasures.

Amidst the kaleidoscope of dye and the smell of vinegar, Asterius concentrated as he transformed plain eggs into vibrant treasures. He carefully dipped each egg, watching the colors swirl and cling, a marvel of transformation that seemed to delight him to his core. Caelum, watched with wide, sparkling eyes, ensnared by the magic of his brother's work.

A delicious aroma soon wafted through the air as a new tradition whipped into being—a homemade strawberry shortcake, rich with the promise of sweet bites and sticky fingers. The layers of cake, strawberries, and cream stood as a testament to the season's bounty and the joyful labor of our family kitchen.

The highlight, though, was captured in a fleeting moment, as delicate as the petals of the springtime blooms: Asterius, leaning in close to Caelum, his mouth a curve of mischief, whispering a private joke that sparked a shared chuckle—a secret in giggles and smiles, an invisible thread weaving their hearts closer.

Paddington found himself in the center of a hare-brained scheme. With plush bunny ears perched atop his head, Paddington exuded the very essence of Easter patience, each lop-sided pink ear casting him as the most endearing imposter of the season's mascot.

At his side, Thagoras, our feline overseer, seemed to conduct a feline inspection of Paddington's unusual attire. With a swish of his tail and a careful step, Thagoras circled our bunny-dog, his whiskers twitching in bewilderment at this strange Easter tradition.

A heartwarming ambiance filled the Levine kitchen as we celebrated a very special occasion: Amy's birthday. The sweet frangrance of freshly baked Date Cake with a warm orange blossom–caramel sauce, a testament to Asterius and Dadda's teamwork and culinary vision, perfumed the air with the promise of the delicious moment to come.

Amy, with Caelum in one arm and Asterius by her side, made her wish, a silent whisper that danced away with the smoke of the candles she blew out with joyous breath. The boys, each in their own enchanting way, looked on with delight. Caelum was mesmerized by the new spectacle, while Asterius looked on with pride for his baked masterpiece.

In the midst of the birthday cheer, Dadda shared a poem, his words a tribute to the beauty and essence of Amy's being, a verbal gift of admiration and love:

His inaugural foray into the sands, dressed in a crisp white shirt, was more than a casual beach day—it was the scouting mission of a master builder. With a yellow ship pail in hand, he charted out the territory, his youthful eyes alight with visions of sandy castles and car dealerships yet to rise.

When next we visited the shore, Asterius came prepared, equipped with heavy-duty construction equipment: i.e. shovels, Alline and Dadda. With Alline by his side acting as shell sorter, Asterius and Dadda excavated the foundations of this ambitious construction project. As the foundation hole widened and deepened, several curious kids were drawn to the site, eager to join in on the fun. It was a gathering of young minds and busy hands, each child adding their touch.
